The first thing a man might notice is his partner’s unwillingness to participate in sexual contact due to dryness or simple lack of desire which can be difficult for them to understand. Now remember guys, just because she says “no” tonight doesn’t mean she will another night, she might truely just not be in the mood, rather than going through the change. If your relationship is still strong and she’s still interested in you just not sexual relations do not immediately assume it’s menopause there are other causes of decreased libido as well. Don’t try to bully her into anything you might regret later. Going through “the change” is not a cake walk for her either.
For some women menopause will act very much like a pregnancy. Fatigue is among the signs of menopause that also occur during pregnancy. A woman going through menopause is likely to feel what is called “crashing” fatigue. I am talking about feeling extremely exhausted at the end of the day. Working a full time job might become unbearable or impossible during the fatigue stage of menopause. The fatigue she might feel could cause her to require several hours of sleep in the middle of the day. More than likely if your loved one is experiencing this type of fatigue, mother nature is playing a role.
An increased itching sensation is one of the menopause symptoms that is often overlooked. Some of the women going through menopause say that their skin is always itchy and that sometimes it feels like their skin is crawling. This is different from the sensation of simple dry skin.
The best description is “it’s like ants are crawling through my skin.” This can feel very icky for women who don’t know what it is that they are experiencing. If you feel itchier than usual and constantly want to scratch, call your doctor. It might be nothing more than a simple skin condition. It might also be one of the signs that you are about to go through menopause (or have started going through menopause already).
Nobody enjoys going through menopause. Even if you are not the person experiencing menopausal symptoms directly, at some point menopause will have an impact on your life (however indirectly). It is a good idea to familiarize yourself with menopause symptoms. This will help you provide the right level of support to the women in your life who experience it. As well as helping you be sympathetic, doing this helps you to know what is going on when women reach certain ages. You could even be able to help the woman in your life figure out what is happening if she becomes sympathetic.
