Spa Cap Spa Cover: Eliminating the Tapered Cover

Time comes when dealers of spa covers sold them in tapered form knowing the saturation of water is cause by moisture coming from the top of the cover. Providing this slanted design of spa cover because they believe that rain or moisture falling from the top of the cover is the reason why of condensation and gets heavy. A lot of people also believe this is so and tricked into purchasing this kind of spa cover. But unknowingly, this isn’t so, because spa covers get heavy from underneath the cover and not from the top.

It is because; the slant shape of the spa cover will keep away the rain and snow from piling in the middle part of the cover. This provides protection of the cover from breaking due to the heavy load when large amount of rain and snow falls into it. Aside from that, it protects the cover from other debris that gets into it. But as to the matter of the cover getting heavy, the sloped design is not the solution for the problem. Its solution is in the materials of which the spa cover is made.

Steam does not get into the foam from the outside but rather from the underneath. It gets in underneath of the spa cover and is absorbed by the foam as the heated water from the spa evaporates and condense in the foam. Moisture molecules get smoothly into the spaces between the foam because it composed of small molecules. After frequent used, it becomes heavy because of the water condensed. Keeping this from happening, manufacturers should do away with the use of rigid foam in the making of spa covers.

When the spa cover is saturated with water, it cannot function anymore in insulating the water of the spa. Added to that, water that condenses in its bottom goes back down to the water of the spa and cools it. One solution to the problem is to buy another cover to dry under the sun while the other one is in use. However, this can cost a lot since the cover will still damage because of the saturated water.

Spa cap reviews have shown that SpaCap spa covers are not made of rigid foam but of air chambers that works efficiently in the insulation of the spa, doing away with the tapered design. Aside from reducing the amount of energy used by the spa by lessening re-heating of the water, the cover also last longer because it does not absorb moisture anymore. Because of that, the spa cover will not get heavy considering it was made of air chambers. This also reduces the waste of having to replace the spa covers in two years because breakage is also prevented.
