What was the first thing you were taught as soon as you went to school (and likely before you entered school)?

 
C’mon, the very first thing you were taught is how to share with others?
Sharing is something that they promote at Wealthy Affiliate, and because of this they created the Training Center.  This is an area where members can upload their very own resources and truly “pay it forward” to fellow members who may be struggling with some things.
 
Kyle and Carson have been paying it forward since they created Wealthy Affiliate in 2005.  There is no better feeling than seeing someone succeed because of something you helped them out with…and trust me, by paying your knowledge and experience forward to others, you become much more successful yourself!
 
If you have something to share, Kyle and Carson would love it if you added a new resource within the Training Center.  The great part about this is that you get rewarded for your hard work in the form of WA Gold.  This is a currency that Kyle and Carson created within WA that has real monetary value.  Each month members get 10 gold (which have to be used, you cannot stockpile gold!), which they are supposed to give out to other members.
 
When you reach 100 gold, you can cash out for real money to your Paypal account.  100 gold equals $10, and it adds up quickly when there are 10,000’s in gold currency been passed around every month!
 
A good deal of this GOLD gets used within the Training Center as people see value in resources that are created by other members.
 
The Training Center is full of gems…you know, value-packed resources that will help you build your Internet marketing foundation.  These are skills that you can apply to build your online earnings…thanks to other members generous contributions.

What do you think of when you think of education?

Many of you probably think of “learning something”.

Many of you probably think of “expensive”…or maybe “boring”.

Many of you probably think of “bettering career opportunities”.

Whatever you think, you likely think along the same lines as us. We went to high school and we also went to college/university. We know what it is like and all of the drawbacks and we have aimed to work towards resolving some of these issues within WA Platinum.

In fact, our aim is to transform the way people learn online, starting with the Internet marketing industry. If we can help people learn and succeed with the applying what they learn, we have surpassed many training and education facilities throughout the world.

Who likes to learn without being able to apply what they learn (until they find a job)?

So here it is…here is why we are saying “bye-bye” to conventional education and hello to Wealthy Affiliate Platinum’s educational platform.

“learning something”

Learning something…hmm, how exactly can learning something be quantified? Don’t you learn something every time you go online? Every search you do? Learning can be exciting, but learning should also be targeted at what you are interested in. The problem with too many formal educations is that you learn “something” but you do not get the exact knowledge you need to succeed in real life.

Stuff where people would actually be sleeping in class..where the others would be preoccupying themselves with stuff that they are interested in.

Also, is it necessary for a computer science student to have to take a “world history” course? Or is this just a cash grab for the educational system…I will let you decide, but a good deal of the education systems “bore” you with classes in order to get more money from you. Wealthy Affiliate gives you the opportunity to learn only what you want to learn…and if you want to get in depth knowledge in a certain aspect of the online world, you can do so.

We don’t force you to learn about World War 2 when you are trying to build a PPC campaign!

“bettering you career opportunities”

Yes, traditional school can do this. But only if you apply yourself when you get out of school. Getting education is one thing, but actually getting a job and utilizing your education is another thing. A prestigious university can often times open your doors more than a normal university, thus putting everyone on a different playing level based on where they got their education alone. Does this have merits? While there were a lot of executives form Harvard that led to the economic downturn that we are currently going through…and there are a lot of companies that are continuing to flourish in the down economy despite the fact that they got their education from a college…or in the case of companies like Apple, dropped out of college.

Theory education leads to knowledge of theory. Theory plus applied education leads to better career opportunities. That is what we offer within Wealthy Affiliate Platinum and we offer members action steps that they implement that lead to opportunity.

We have tackled all the drawbacks we have personally seen in education. Not only our own drawbacks, but drawbacks within the Wealthy Affiliate community, and drawbacks that continue to reside within the education world.
