Hope you’re having a great weekend!

… I feel it’s important that I keep you up to date with any major changes at Wealthy Affiliate, and today I would like to give you a tip that will help you avoid paying more than necessary if you are thinking of joining WA before the price increase.

This increase to $97 per month has prompted many people to act smart and sign up for the yearly option before the price increase on Monday (at noon EDT). Why? Because right now it’s a one-off payment of $359.88, and that works out at the equivalent of $29.99 per month (12 x 29.99 = 359.88)

BUT WAIT…

Are those people really being smart?

Yes that’s one heck of a saving when you consider it will cost $797
on Monday, but how many people can realistically afford to pull $359 out of the air before that time?

Believe or not, a lot of people.

I say they can afford it, but 99% of them CAN’T afford it…they just think it’s the right thing to do.

But the truth is…they really don’t need to!

Here’s why.

If someone joins WA via the monthly option before this coming Monday (June 7, 2010) at noon EDT, it will only cost $39. Not only that but they will NEVER be subject to any future price increase because they will have joined before the deadline. This also means that IF they like what they see and want to upgrade to the yearly option at some point in the future, it will only cost…$359!

To clarify, you DO NOT have to sign up to WA via the yearly option to get the much cheaper yearly deal before Monday. If funds are tight, take the monthly option for now ($39), and you can upgrade to the cheaper yearly option at ANY point in the future when your finances allow it.

Hey,

Kyle, a non-guru here.  I know, I know…some people refer to us as gurus, but we prefer not to be associated with this label, nor would we like WA to be branded as a guru-type company. 

There are many reasons for this, but before I get into this I would like to give you the definition of a guru (from Wikipedia).

Guru:

Is one who is regarded as having great knowledge, wisdom and authority in a certain area, and who uses it to guide others (teacher). As a principle for the development of consciousness it leads the creation from unreality to reality, from the darkness of ignorance to the light of knowledge. In its purest form this principle manifests on earth as a divine incarnation (saint), a person with supreme knowledge about God and all creation.

In the context of this definition, I guess we could be considered a guru.

We know, we guide, and we help people see the light.

However, the “guru” of the Internet marketing world has a whole different definition and a feeling by customers.

Too many people have been ripped off by so-called Internet marketing gurus…people who were supposed to have vast knowledge, who are supposed to help you out.

Thus, we do not want to be called gurus. Not in this industry.  People will continue calling us gurus because of the help that we offer and the success we help them achieve (the true meaning of guru), however we will never label ourselves as gurus.

Instead, we would prefer to be facilitators.  Someone that will help guide you there, hold your hand, and show you exactly where to find the light.  We facilitate member success! This term has a much greater meaning to us and is much more appropriate.

So, back to the initial subject of this letter, Platinum vs. Guru, what is the difference between how Wealthy Affiliate Platinum works versus anything else out there that a “guru” will offer you.

I have 8 things that completely separate us from anyone else out there:

Money.  That is right.  Everyone wants more of it, but not everyone approaches this idea in the same way.   Guru’s have the concept that if they take money from others, they will have more money in their pocket at the end of the day. 

Our concept is that if we help others succeed, if we offer a service that is worth more than it’s weight in gold, and we continue to advance our product offering without charging more, we will have happy customers.  Happy customers equate to long term customers.  Long-term customers naturally equate to more money.

Wealthy Affiliate Platinum is going to create a lot of happy customers and is only going to get better with time.  We are like a fine wine…we just keep on getting better as we age!   More money to our members in 2009 and onwards!

Support.  Yes, we offer personal support and we will continue doing this.  We know that a lot of people come to us in the dark and are used to a “lack of support” from guru’s.  Frankly, people are utterly in shock when we personally get back to them!  A company owner should not hide behind the Internet!  We do not feel like we are your superior, rather an equal…and this translates to us being an active part of our community and helping our members out personally.

(Editor’s Note: The many times Kyle or Carson have personally replied to me as a junior member have indeed shocked me!!)

Gurus hide behind their low quality support.  We are our support!

Success.  Our goal is your success, not ours.  We want you to succeed and all the updates we have made within Wealthy Affiliate Platinum include new avenues for success, and avenues to make success that much easier.

With our upcoming improvements, you will be able to earn more right within WA, unlock new avenues and marketing techniques as they take place, and ultimately build a much more successful business.  Our training, relationship building, and tool upgrades within WA are all in line with more members earning more commissions.

Training.  We are going to be offering the most sophisticated Internet marketing program.  One that will grow with the current state of the Internet, one that will reveal new opportunities and ways to achieve success online, and one that will contain the most diverse set of video, tutorial, course and guide based training.

We are going to be targeting all levels of training as well.  Beginner.  Intermediate. Advanced. Product Owner or Affiliate.  Individual or Enterprise. Wealthy Affiliate Platinum is going to become the training center for anyone interested in succeeding online.

WA Platinum training is taking a huge leap into a new world of Web 2.0…gearing up for Web 3.0, which is a semantic web.  We are going to be delivering resources that you need before you know that need them and we are not going to be increase the cost of membership for this training.  Find a guru that does this!

Evolution.  Yes, we evolve…and evolve often.  Unlike an e-book or one of the guru driven Internet marketing communities out there, we choose to not become stale.  Our information, tools, resources, and networking systems will be updated and improved upon regularly within Wealthy Affiliate Platinum.

We have already made some major evolutions on the network, efficiency, training, tools and support areas and we are going to continue to do this going forward.

Technology. As computer science graduates, we have a very strong grasp of what technologies are available and how we can improve efficiency and our overall delivery of training and the community within WA. 

WA Platinum will have the most technologically advanced Internet marketing training platform on the Internet!

Technology is the backbone for Wealthy Affiliate Platinum and it is gong to be the driving force of any new additions within WA.  We have done an overhaul of the technologies used and WA is much more efficient from a user standpoint and a speed standpoint.  

Focus.  Our focus is on continually making Wealthy Affiliate better and better.  Not finding new ways to make money off of you.  Creating a better, more versatile and highly improved system (is a top priority).

If you have been around the Internet for any time, you will see the “gurus” sending out email after email promoting not only a new product they have created (it seems like every month), but other people’s products as well.

That is not us.  WA is our focus and our members success is our focus!  You will find that Wealthy Affiliate Platinum is going to blow away anything out there as it has been a focus of ours for the last year (and WA has been our focus for the last 4 years).

Price.  Could we charge several thousand dollars for access to Wealthy Affiliate…YES.  Are we going to do this?  NO.  We offer more training, tools and support lines than any other service out there yet we only charge members $39/mth!

Guru’s are charging $99/mth for their communities and some are charging upwards of $1000/mth for training in which they don’t even support themselves.  We charge $39/mth.

Is this a bad decision on our part?  It can be, for ONE reason.  People tend to think our service must not be that good because we only charge $39/mth!  The lower the cost, the lower the quality right?  NO! We have invested several million into Wealthy Affiliate over the years and have a dedicated team working on WA Platinum.  We continue making our system better and better…yet we don’t charge more and we won’t be charging more at the time of our launch.

In saying this, we are becoming too cheap.  At some point we will have to raise our price…but the good news for existing members will always remain the same.  You lock into $39/mth for life if you become a member at the $39 price level.  You are definitely safe for the launch as we will not be increasing right away, but Wealthy Affiliate Platinum is a massive upgrade WITHOUT ANY price increases!

So, after 6 months here on WA I thought it was time we share our story with you all as really, my friend and I are just normal high school students who wanted to earn an extra buck, but now we couldn’t be happier with our achievements and on-going success.

It wasn’t the easiest 6 months but thanks to WA, and pushing ourselves, my friend and I have really made progress in this Internet marketing world and have decided to take it to the next step.

I will start off by giving you all a little background on us and our story.

We stumbled upon the idea of affiliate marketing, PPC and WA all of 6 months ago, we were both looking for ways to earn extra cash, with the expenses of trying to live a social life, buy nice clothes, ipods and stuff, we had to do this our self, we didn’t have the rich parents to do it for us, and trying to juggle a job at McDonald’s, our final years of high school work loads, as well as family and social life, there were just not enough hours in the week to make the money needed for the lifestyle we dreamed of.

So after finding out about Internet Marketing and reading up a little, we were both agreeing that this was a sure fire way to get that cash we needed, and possibly pay for our University costs to say goodbye to the feared government debt.

Even though our goals at the beginning were a measly $50 a week, but when we started seeing $2000+ weeks we were speechless, we couldn’t believe that just after 6 months, we were now making over $8000 a month, more then enough for anything us high school boys wanted, but most of all giving us the options to quit our jobs, and no longer have to work for “the man”, we could work when we wanted, and how we wanted, this is the way life was meant to be, and in result allowed us to put more effort into our schooling.

So in short, our goal of $50 a week, ended up becoming $50 a day, and now after this whole 6 months is $500 a day, we are NOW making MORE then our PARENTS, the feeling of how proud they are is irreplaceable, and after all this time and effort, we now want to help others to get the success we are receiving, EVERYONE deserves this, so it has now become our goal to help the WA community out.

Us boys, are now working on OUR own guide of how we have created our success, a beginners guide to PPC, and IM with the steps, ideas, and knowledge needed to start achieving the success we are.

We are just kids, and in a short time of 6 months look at what we have been able to achieve, if you are losing hope in IM, look at our success, look at others success!

It can happen, and if you continue to put the time and effort in , it WILL happen.
